I was part of the STEM Games volunteer team for the first time ever and I didn't know what to expect. My role was the head of indoor volleyball, as I have been involved with volleyball for many years and easily come to a solution when I have to do something - this means, as the sentence suggests, I did well! What attracted me to the STEM Games was the crazy company, the promising schedule and a diverse choice of sports to participate in or just spectate. The team gave it their all to organize a very good time and even when the weather was bad, the event tent was full! Music & fun - it doesn’t get any better. The Games were a crazy and unforgettable experience for me, with lots of events and beautiful people. After all, it doesn't matter where you are, but who you are with - and this team confirmed the stories which say that the STEM Games are the best.

I volunteered for the STEM Games additional programme where I met wonderful people, and helped organize different events while having loads of fun. The best thing about the STEM Games was that something was always happening and there was something for everybody. Finally, the highlight of the games for me were our "morning" coffees, as we would always have a rundown of the activities of the night before. All of my expectations were beyond met and I can't wait for next year!

As any STEM student from Croatia, I knew about the STEM Games beforehand, but never thought myself as being part of them. This was then the perfect opportunity, and a kind of challenge I hadn’t ever faced before. I am glad I decided to participate, because as it turns out, it was the best experience of my life. I found myself in unexpected situations and challenges, managed to come out on top, and am now eagerly waiting for new opportunities to arise. I met lovely people, worked with awesome colleagues, and definitely had a lot of fun when organizing. The Games have given me an incredible opportunity to go out of my comfort zone, and for that reason I would invite everyone to try and join. It doesn’t matter how much experience you have, just apply and come, because I promise you will meet great new people, and the enormous effort will pay off multiple times.

Participating in the STEM Games is an amazing experience. It is a chance to meet a large number of students with which you can exchange experiences and who you can talk to every day. Being a part of the organization is a bit different, as you see just how much time and effort gets invested, though in the end the most important thing is to have fun, which is simply priceless. And at the end of the day, when you see all the students enjoying themselves, you know that as an organization, you have accomplished something.

Going to the STEM Games is something I would recommend to anyone who wants to have fun, make new friends and potentially meet their future employer at Career's Day. I will remember my first volunteering experience because of the people I met along the way and with whom, to this day, I still meet up and reminisce over the experiences and truly fundamental memories we made at Umag.

I started volunteering at the STEM Games two years ago out of pure curiosity. I was curious to see how such an event is organized on such a high level. As expected, there was a lot of work, which included close cooperation with my colleagues and sponsors from day one. Teamwork is the key to every organization, including this one. Truthfully, there was more work than I had expected, both throughout the year and at the Games themselves. We always needed to stay on top of things and be aware of what was happening. I volunteered in the partnerships team where, before the Games, we had to find partners for the event as well as keep in touch with previous ones, but also to make ourselves available to them during the event. Although there was much to be done, there was still time to rest and enjoy ourselves. In the end, I am very happy I got the chance to volunteer at the Games as I had the opportunity to see the event organization from another perspective and to meet a lot of kind and wonderful people.

The STEM Games are a truly wonderful and immersive experience. In the beginning of 2023 I was introduced to the STEM Games through a close friend and after signing up and becoming a volunteer in the additional program team, I was in for a wild ride. Even though the Games lasted only five days, I felt like they went on for a whole month because of how good of a time I had. If you are a person who enjoys volunteering, this is the place for you, and we will welcome you with open arms.

The STEM Games were a great experience for me. I had the opportunity to meet, collaborate with and have fun with a lot of wonderful people. From them I learned things that will definitely benefit my personal interests. The location and rooming were excellent. The team leaders were always there to help and answer any questions we had. They did their jobs well and coordinated us so that we could be as efficient as possible. The workload was also delegated fairly so that nobody got burned out. All in all, it was a wonderful experience that I would recommend to everyone.

I started my STEM Games volunteering journey by filling out the „Call for Volunteers“ form. Quickly after that I got an email, had an interview, and secured myself a spot on the team. Volunteering in the STEM Games marketing team was an exciting experience where I got to develop my creative and professional skills. The Games are the most amazing place to meet new people, party the night (or five) away and create new memories! If that sounds like fun to you, I strongly suggest you apply as a volunteer. I promise you won't regret it!

My name is Josip and this year will be my fourth year of volunteering at the STEM Games. The STEM Games are an interesting combination of people from different backgrounds who come together for sports, eSports, problem-solving or just to have fun together. Even though every year I mainly participate to have fun, I like the fact that I can still make my contribution in order to make this event an even bigger and better one.

Through volunteering at the STEM Games, I had the unique opportunity to see how the organization of an event for a couple thousand students takes place, which will definitely serve me well in my future endeavors. Besides that, I met many kind and wonderful people and more importantly made memories from my student days for life. The STEM Games are an experience I would recommend to everybody, either as a volunteer or a participant - because once you are in, it is hard to get out. 😃

Volunteering at the STEM Games is something every person should experience! From the great people and parties, to the free travel and stay, but most importantly the feeling of being a fundamental part of the organization of such a big event in the region. The work itself is not that tiresome, and everything is done with good spirits and motivated people. I will definitely be a part of the 2024 STEM Games!
